چکیده

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the occlusal force adjusting ability implant-supported overdenture (IOD) wearers, as compared with natural teeth and complete dentures. Methods: Subjects were those dentition (ND group; 19 subjects), overdentures (IOD 7 dentures (CD 14 subjects). asked hold test foods (peanuts biscuits mounted on a custom-made apparatus transducer) between their anterior incisors (hold phase) split (split phase). mean value during phase force), peak rate (peak rate), time required (duration), maximum in force) selected outcomes. Data analyzed Wilcoxon’s signed rank test, Kruskal-Wallis multiple regression analysis (Statistical significance levels: 5%). Results: For peanuts, for ND group significantly higher than IOD CD groups. duration longer Multiple indicated that even adjustment age sex, there significant differences IOD, groups, group. Conclusions: IODs showed superior adjust force, dentures, although it didn’t match dentition.

Implant Supported Overdenture: A Case Report

Implant supported overdentures have proved to be one of the best alternative options in prosthetic rehabilitation of various cases of edentulism. They satisfy the patient’s expections, improve quality of life with their long term serviceability and predictable outcomes. Over the years, significant advancements have taken place in the implant systems and the methods of attachments. This paper de...

Attachments used with implant supported overdenture

Conventional complete denture is the traditional treatment plan for the completely edentulous patient. Unfortunately, this treatment option has several complications, especially for the lower denture. The advance of a dental implant with attachment systems resolves many of these issues, particularly that related to the denture retention and stability. A wide variety of commercially available at...

Implant supported overdenture for the atrophic mandible.

A long-term denture wearer exhibited advanced alveolar bone loss, resulting in an atrophic mandible. Symphyseal bone height was 10 mm. The inferior alveolar nerve and mental foramen were close to the crest of the mandible. The symphyseal region was available for endosteal implant placement. Patient was an 83-year-old white male who was medically compromised. Anticoagulant therapy was stopped an...

EMG activity of the masseter muscle in implant supported overdenture wearers during chewing of hard and soft food.

The influence of texture of food on the surface electromyographic (EMG) activity of the masseter muscle was investigated in a sample of mandibular implant overdenture wearers. Six experienced denture wearers (mean age 57.8 years) with mandibular overdentures supported by two implants, consented to participate in this study. Fresh raw carrots and peeled apples of similar size and weight were cho...

Occlusal force pattern in dentitions with mandibular implant-supported fixed cantilever prostheses occluded with complete dentures.

Naturally occurring axially directed closing and chewing forces were measured in ten patients with mandibular fixture-supported cross-arch prostheses occluding with maxillary complete dentures. The design of the mandibular constructions was characterized by bilateral posterior two-unit cantilevers. The forces were measured using eight miniature strain gauge transducers mounted in the maxillary ...
